Become a Coach

Coaches are the heart of our program! Each season, two or more volunteer coaches inspire and guide a team through our tried-and-true curriculum. If you're ready to directly make an impact, then this role is for you.

Become a junior Coach

Junior Coaches are needed to inspire the next generation! Our Junior Coach program is for high school girls aged 16 to 18. Beyond serving as a role model to program participants, Junior Coaches work alongside Coaches, strengthening their leadership skills and gaining a sense of belonging and purpose.

Happy Pace Team

If you can't coach but you want to do more than volunteer for the GOTR 5K, this is the group for you! Our council is seeking volunteers who can support on a project-by-project basis. Jobs include: helping with supply drops at sites, sub coaching, 5k prep and truck loading/unloading, fundraising event prep and staffing, tabling or volunteering at partner events like races, fairs, and community events, office help and more. You will receive access to our volunteer job calendar and can can sign up for the jobs that work for you throughout the year. Click the button below to Sign up!

5K Volunteers

Our end of season 5K provides a tangible sense of accomplishment to participants. To celebrate and make the experience one to remember, there are many opportunities to get involved.

  • Set-Up / Break-down
  • Registration
  • Course Marshals
  • Water Station
  • Medical Team
  • Finish Line Food and Water
  • Fun Zone: facepainting, temporary tattoos, Bling your Bib, hair accesories, and more
  • 5K Buddy: family members and/or trusted friends to run alongside participants.

Board of Directors

We are currently seeking Board Members for a 3 year term beginning July 1, 2025. Join this group of fun and hard-working individuals who are passionate about empowering girls and committed to moving our mission forward. 

Group Opportunities

Are you part of a group or organization that wants to make an impact on our community? Girls on the Run would love to have you get involved with our program. Here are few ways you can make a difference while working together.

  • Volunteer together at a Girl on the Run 5K event – from cheer teams to water stations to handing out medals at the finish line and more – there are numerous ways for you to help bring this joyful end of season celebration to life!
  • Support with one-day volunteer opportunities.
  • Volunteer for or financially support a team for a season.

Internships

Our council can create internship opportunities on an individual basis, helping you get the most out of your experience. Focus areas: volunteer recruitment, program support, marketing, communications, social media, graphic design, videography, operations, special events and fundraising.
